How I Plan my Week as a Christian Mom

Spoiler Alert: It's not perfect. BUT it is purposeful.

As a mom of two littles, married to a husband with an equally demanding job, I know the chaos of a Monday morning scramble... the overflowing laundry baskets... the half finished workout that I didn't get to finish before the girls work up... and the guilt that comes when my faith keeps getting pushed aside.

I created Blake and Benjamin not because I've mastered it all - but because I've learned that faithful living happens in small, intentional rhythms.

And for me, it starts with a weekly plan.

Step 1: Ground the Week in Scripture

On Sunday evenings, after the kids are down and the house is (mostly) clean, I open my planner and start with a single verse for the week.

Sometimes I'm inspired by a sermon at church. Sometimes I choose a verse from my Bible app, or it comes from whatever God has put on my heart.

This week's verse:
"Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans." - Proverbs 16:3

I write it at the top of my weekly planner as a reminder: this is His work, not mine.

Step 2: Plan Meals with Simplicity, Not Stress

I'm not trying to be Pinterest perfect - I'm just trying to feed everyone with intention, and protein.

I jot down:
  • 3 dinner meals I can rotate (with leftovers in mind)
  • 2 lunch staples for me (usually high-protein and easy)
  • Toddler snacks and quick breakfast options for the girls

My favorite time saver: This bento box from Amazon has made packing toddler meals so much easier!

Step 3: Schedule My Workouts (And Give Myself Grace)

I plan 6 workouts a week using my Fit Mom Weekly Planner - and I pencil them in like appointments. Right now 80 Day Obsession is my go to for toning and losing weight after baby #2 (slowly but surely those last 10lbs are coming off... a year later haha!)
Pro tip: I track each session and water intake right on my printable planner.

Step 4: Quick Budget Check-In

This takes less than 10 minutes, I:
  • Review our week's expenses
  • Update our savings goals
  • Pray over our stewardship

Money is a tool - not a master. I've found that Inviting God into our finances keeps anxiety low and trust high.

I use this printable family budget tracker every month:

Step 5: Pray and Preview the Week

Before closing my planner, I write 2 simple things:

  • A prayer for my family and our home.
  • A "Top 3" for the week (not a to-do list - just 3 meaningful focuses)

Then I rest. Not because it's all done , because let's be honest - there is always something else that could be done. But because I've handed it over.
